This is my first true unconference. I've been at several quasi-unconferences so I get the gist of what's supposed to happen. However, I love the concept of creating content on the fly. I'm linking to the event wiki so that folks can see the agenda and notes from other sessions.

I'm sitting at O'Reilly's "Tools of Change for Publishing" Conference in New York City. Our CEO, Barry Libert, is one of the speakers at the event and he's up in 37 minutes. His presentation will focus on our We Are Smarter Than Me book -- a project that we collaborated on with publishing giant, Pearson Publishing, UPenn Wharton, MIT and over 4,300 bloggers, podcasters and other social media enthusiasts.

After sending an e-mail to a friend today on how to get started on Twitter, I thought it might not hurt to provide a few tips for anyone who's looking to get started (or has started but can't quite figure out what to do next.) An interesting thing happened to me on Friday after I began following @amandachapel on Twitter. Yes, that "Amanda Chapel", the one who loves to rail against all things social media. In reviewing "Amanda's" last 20 posts (or "tweets") -- something I do before following anyone on Twitter -- one entry in particular piqued my interest so I clicked through to her blog, "Strumpette."
