Earlier this week I presented to a local group of social media insiders and influencers at Social Media Breakfast #5 in Inman Square. Organized by Bryan Person, SMB is growing in propularity with each event. This breakfast drew 50+ people despite an overnight snowstorm that changed over to freezing rain by early morning.
The format was a series of short, five minute presentations* on "How Twitter Changed My Life (and how it could change yours too!)." I was one of four presenters and ...

Last week, I wrote a post about the Microsoft/Yahoo deal and in the end was really excited about the possibility for social search. Well, Google's leading VP in search was interviewed recently and she considers social search "the future of search."

My two daughters were eating breakfast and watching Curious George before school this morning (I know, I know... I shouldn't do this, but sometimes it's the only way to get food in them and get out the door in the morning.) Anyhow, all of a sudden my four year old excaims, "Dad, you have to see this! It's so cool! Can you rewind the TV?" Of course, this tv doesn't have Tivo, but pausing/rewinding tv shows has become 'normal' to her. After trying to explain to her that this tv isn't abl ...

When I fired up my laptop on Friday, I was surprised by the first tweet that caught my attention in the Twitter - stream. "Microsoft and Yahoo...wow!". Wow was the right sentiment, IMHO... this is BIG news. So I surfed on over to the NY Times to figure our what was behind the headline. The letter sent by Microsoft to Yahoo is great read to get a sense of the tone set by Microsoft. Everything you need to know to get started is right there.
Thinking about this over the weekend, it becam ...
