I have a question - How are Sections delimited? Namely, in a contiguous Chapter text, how are we marking the linear flow of
<chapter intro> <outline> <section> <outline> <section> <section> <outline> .... |

Overall, I find it very difficult to work through structure and order 'as is' given that it does not flow well like this. As mentioned elsewhere (on a numbe of places) this problem is shared by others.
I believe tht until this CRITICAL issue has not been dealt with, there will be a very limited number of Sections claimed. |

Rating system - very good idea but on current level of software support for it, it looks a nightmare! It will be essential to regularly reread the whole to see what is new and vote.
Seems to me too unwieldy. I wonder if it would not be simpler to leave it out until software is able to cope?

In the interest of connecting the text of the book with the Forums, I would like to let you all know that as a volunteer Moderator for Chapters 2, 12 and 16 (as numbered now) I have strated to work on getting them recast in such a way that Sections and narrative show up more clearly.
Now, hre comes a BIG REQUEST. I have looked up in the History of each Chapter to see who are all the people who have participated in their editing so far in order that I can let them know about new developments and invite them to claim ownership of any Sections they believe they can make theirs. However, the Members Search turns up very few email addresses.
So, instead of personal invitations, this is an INVITATION to ALL those who may be interetsed in taking part in the first Chapters to b edited according to Community Proposal. Please look into the Write the Book and START! |

Sorry for a long absence in participating. I believe there is still some cleaning up and clarifications we need to provide to make it easier for people to create sections and assemble them into an outline. In the meantime the suggestions and approaches the community has adopted seem to be having some positive impact.
A few new ideas have come up on the community conference call this afternoon (Dec 21 - the call is still going on). It appears that some of the new technology features will be rolled out by early January. I'll leave it to Isaac to provide further explanation once the plans are finalized.
