Hello, a colleague just introduced me to this site. He and I and others have been working on applying the wisdom of crowds idea to businesses. My interest is in applying my methods to turn individual thinking into collective wisdom to either pursue opportunities or solve problems. Typically, this has been in the world of business but is not limited to that world. The method I use is called Open Source Decision because it is based on reaching decisions by collaborating in three steps to create a map of the collective wisdom. If anyone has an interest you can visit the website at opensourcedecision.com. I would be interested in contributing to the next book so I will post several ideas from past projects in that space based on the OSD method. I look forward to exploring this site more and hearing about the work of others. Cheers. |

| Yes I did check it out and I posted last night. It was tough to do in the 2000 character limit so I hope I conveyed enough to create some interest to know more. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Your initial point, "my idea involves the use of real-time, online collaboration that mines the multilateral talents and ideas of the crowd," is consistent with my approach. I think your reference to "second life" would be nice extension to the sessions that I do with groups after I have mapped their ideas and we are now ready to create something (e.g., an action plan). I will be interested in where you can go with this ideas since it would be an nice extension to OSD. With regard to the co-creation and sharing in the wealth of the creation, I was part of on online community several years ago that did just that. They seemed to have worked out those details. I am not sure if they are still in business or not but I imagine others on this site may recall the url and you might find that useful as a model for your proposal. If not, I may have those notes on another computer, I'll check. |

DMC: thank you, it would be beneficial.
I was concerned about the algorithm that allocates appropriate cotribution margin of individual as well as prevent the individuals to defraud the whole idea
I woud appreciate if anyone posted direct coments into the idea share to liven up the stale discussion there...
thanks
