As promised, this is where the next "We Are Smarter" book will start -- in the discussion forums. We welcome your submissions on how community is changing the way your company (or a company you work with) does marketing. Once we have a decent list, we'll let the "We" Community rank those ideas. The winners will go into a rough draft of the book that will appear in a wiki on this site. Enjoy!

To chime in here: We're looking for anything you have to offer: Case studies from your personal experience, case studies you've heard or read about, questions you see as unanswered in the community realm, reaction to submissions of other community members, anythign at all.

I would like to see a We case study that focused on the use of collaboration tools and processes in the US military. I have already posted a little on this in other Fora here.

How can communities like Facebook allow the Army to function better? As I posted elsewhere, members of the US Army are the largest community in Facebook at 43,000 people (followed closely by Navy, Air Force, and IBM). If 43,000 soldiers are using Facebook to express themselves, remain in touch with their families, and keep track of their friends worldwide, then is there a way for Facebook (or other tools) to help the Army with its official functions? Imagine a Facebook community that helps people deal with the loss of a loved one, or that brings together people suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome, or just connects everyone who was stationed at a particular base in 2001. The number of useful applications is endless.

Is there anyone who would like to help create this kind of case study?
