| We have not even started chapter one and the complexities of the first few post shows what will happen if no leader is present - lots of discussion, very little action. This book will likely die as a discussion. |

Point well made and actions are already in train by both Originating team and interested community members. I would encourage you and everyone else here to take a look at OVERVIEW and then click to read Community Proposal that summarises the way the book content is being developed.
As someone who has shown interest, I encourage you to find the area where you personally feel you can contribute and go for it! |

It's awful quiet here...anyways, let me share my thoughts.
Many of the previous discussions seem to revolve around the question "what is a book?" Alll the talks about Structure, Format, Legality...etc. sounds like we're heading towards creating just another "book". I really hope that this project/experiment doesn't result in producing just another book. I think the whole point of this open forum format is to put less emphasis on authorship, and put more focus on the substance and the interaction that it creates. ' I know I'm being a little hypocritical here by talking about "the book" again, but I do wish that the community members here don't impose too many contraints on themselve at this stage of development.
I 'll start talking about my thoughts, ideas and experiences about building communities on my next post. Since I'm a recent member here, I think I have a lot of catching up to do. |

It is awfully quiet, because we have been through a fairly long spell where we were re-engineering the website, to create the right functionality. (By the way - the changes were initiated by the community, who defined what was most critical). We just invited (yesterday) a large group of people from Wharton to join the experiment, so we are in effect "restarting" very recently. Hope the volume of discussion grows over time. Regards. | I have been 'out of the loop' for about two months. Just checking back where the things have got to and how much involvement has occured in the creative process since.;) |
