Founders

Barry Libert is the CEO of Shared Insights US, LLC, an information company that owns and operates professional communities for itself and others. Shared Insights currently serves tens of thousands of professionals through its live events, professional (virtual) networks and corporate communities for leading enterprises. Libert is a veteran of McKinsey & Company, The Hancock and Arthur Andersen. He is the co-author of two books, published by HarperBusiness, on the value of information and business relationships (intangibles). He has appeared on major television and radio outlets, including NPR, CNBC, FNN and Bloomberg, as well as in print in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

 

Jon Spector is President and CEO of The Conference Board, the world's preeminent business membership and research organization. Prior to joining the Conference Board, Jon was the Vice Dean and Director of Wharton's Aresty Institute of Executive Education. Previously, he was CEO of several venture-backed startup companies. Spector also enjoyed a 20-year career at McKinsey & Company, where he was named a principal in 1986 and a director in 1992. At McKinsey, he consulted on issues of strategy, organization, and operations with the senior management of leading companies in the information technology and communications industries. Currently, Spector sits on the boards of the March of Dimes and several start-up companies and lives with his wife and four boys in a Boston suburb

 

Thomas W. Malone is the Patrick J. McGovern Professor of Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is also the founder and director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence.  He was also the founding director of the MIT Center for Coordination Science and was one of the two founding co-directors of the MIT Initiative on "Inventing the Organizations of the 21st Century". His most recent book is The Future of Work: How the New Order of Business Will Shape Your Organization, Your Management Style, and Your Life. Professor Malone has also published over 50 articles, research papers, and book chapters; been an inventor on 11 patents; and co-edited three books; co-founded three software companies; and consulted and served as a board member for a number of other organizations.

 

Tim Moore started out in Prentice Hall's College Division, the leader in the industry, in 1979, as a field rep. During the course of that "first career," Tim moved from field rep to AVP, Director of Professional Marketing Channels, where he was asked to build new channels of distribution for the company. In 1990, Tim helped build a new division, PH PTR, a publisher of consumer computer/technical books, and was named VP, Director of Sales and Marketing. PH PTR became the market leader for over 7 years displaying double digit growth. In 1997, Tim moved to editorial with a mandate to start new computer publishing lines. In 2001, Tim became VP, Editor-in-Chief and was asked to start a new business professional publishing division, which currently includes two successful business publishing imprints: Wharton School Publishing and FTPress.

 


Dr. Yoram (Jerry) Wind is The Lauder Professor and Professor of Marketing at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is the founding director of the Wharton "think tank," The SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management. Dr. Wind is the founding editor of Wharton School Publishing (Wharton's joint venture with Pearson) and the founder and academic director of the Wharton Fellows program. From 1983 to 1988, he was the founding director of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies, and from 1980 to 1983 the founding director of the Wharton Center for International Management Studies. Dr. Wind joined the Wharton staff in January 1967, upon receipt of his doctorate from Stanford University.
